Pastor Shawn and First Lady Heather Riggs were both born and raised in Terre Haute, IN.  Pastor Shawn took on the role of lead pastor at Journey Church A/G on November 9, 2025. Prior to this, Pastor Shawn and Heather were active members of Journey for seven years, providing assistance wherever necessary.  Pastor Shawn has over 20 years of pastoral experience in Terre Haute. He completed his theological education at Global University and became an ordained minister in the Assemblies of God in 2012. Throughout the years, he has held various positions including children's pastor, youth pastor, and lead pastor. Together, he and Heather have dedicated themselves to serving this community and are passionate about witnessing God's ongoing transformation. "With God all things are possible" Matthew 19:26. Pastor Shawn is confident that God will accomplish remarkable things within the church, the community, and our city, as long as we remain obedient to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is essential that we are led by the Spirit and stay in step with the Holy Spirit. Everything begins with prayer. We must be a congregation that prays and believes in order to align ourselves with God's purpose.
